The Old Southeronians
The Old Southeronians Association was originally
formed on the 25th July 1938 for the former employees of the then
Southern Railway and their spouses and is still continuing, despite the
fragmentation of the industry, to provide a framework of social events
throughout the former Southern Region of British Railways.
The Association is split into eight geographic
Branches based in Bournemouth, Croydon, West London, North West Kent, South
East Kent, Southampton, Sussex and West of England.
Membership of the Old Southeronians is now open
to any former employees of any Railway Company now operating in what was the
Southern Region including any who resigned or took early retirement and also
to any current employee of any Railway Company within the catchment area.
Membership can be for the individual or include spouse/partner.
Each Branch organises its own calendar of social
events, which other Branches members may participate in, and these events
range from holidays to days out, picturesque rambles through the
countryside, coffee mornings and social gatherings and annual dinners.
Enquiries about membership can be made to our
General Secretary, John Dunn, 11 Rodmell Road, Seaford, East Sussex, BN25
4EE or by
E:mail
Who knows, you might bump into a long lost
friend or find a new one.
